@frustratedinlaw Thank you for this article from 2018. Vitamin D is indeed very important, and anyone not living near the equator should be considering this supplement — including my fellow Canadians. A significant risk for schizophrenia is inherited. Schizophrenia is a complex multigenetic disorder, combined with precipitating factors that can include things like nutrional deficiencies, maternal viral illness, exposure to environmental factors and stress. Each risk factor confers a small risk, with the genetic factors being the most potent.
