NAMI really does have mission creep, but maybe they will re-embrace their original goal.

I think NAMI is a resource for us and can be really good in many ways, but their main messaging and goals now do seem to be for people who have MI with “insight” and voluntarily engage in treatment.

Which makes sense because obviously they need money and people with untreated SMI and their families are NOT going to be a steady source of donations.
