Hi Sadmommy I am so sorry. So many of us start out so very lost when we realize the impact schizophrenia is having on our family members’ lives. To find a way forward, read a lot of this forum’s older threads where there is a wealth of information and ideas. Attend NAMI’s Family to Family course either in person or online if in person isn’t available where you live. Read Dr Torreys “Surviving Schizophrenia A Family Manual” and Dr Amador’s “I Am Not Sick, I Don’t Need Help”
Thank you very much. This forum is new me. It’s saddening to see how many families are affected I had no clue. Feels like you’re alone going through this and I’m completely lost. Always second doubting myself with my son. Am I wrong? Am I doing the right thing? Questions I ask myself daily without answers.
Try to trust yourself @Sadmommy as because you care so much about your son, chances are most of your inclinations on how to handle this on a day to day basis will be correct. Only you can know what is best for your family. Taking this one step at a time is important. And not beating yourself up for choices you take is VERY important.
@hope gave you some good advice above on what you should do next.
