I noticed a artical yesterday call There’s hope for people living with schizophrenia, I did print this off. Is there any other articals that would be a positive read for my boyfriend to show him that he can over come his mental illness. Something else he could read to give him hope.

Please connect with your local NAMI office. They often have speaker nights where you can hear from a real live person how they are managing. I found that very encouraging! They also have materials to read. My son is doing really well… It was tough to get the right meds- but he is happy and stable with the right meds now! Good for you for being such a good support to him!

Thank you so much for this article. It may not help my son, but hopefully it will and many others. It has been a nightmare for the last 22 years. My heart breaks for him and there have been times where I just wanted to go to sleep and not wake up. It has gotten a little better after the first 10-15 years, but continously a struggle. He did get off street drugs after years of destroying his mobile home, apartments, then finally my home. He felt so bad and they put him on a shot that was court ordered. Once I got him on vitamins (Natural Treatment) which I truly believe in. He got much better, but then his voices told him not to take them and he stopped. He is very sick physically now and mentally doing as best he can. But he still hears voices and stays mostly to himself. He smokes badly and has COPD. But won’t quit. It is not unusual with them. I’m going to check this information out and I thank God for this website. .
