Holidays and your SZ loved ones

How do your loved ones who struggle with SZ
do at the Holidays;

Halloween, Thanksgiving, all the Yule/ Winter Holidays?

Withdraw, participate , indifferent?

Look forward to your replies.

My son likes it if we go visit his okder brother and sister…he only participa t es for a bit…

I find that planning a Thanksgiving visit and meal becomes stressful for my 50-year-old son who is living in a group home.

He says I do weird things with my eyes or I say things that make him uncomfortable.

He doesn’t want a one-on-one visit and does only OK with virtual video calls. If I talk too fast he gets upset.

                        🍁🍁🍁

After 30 years of trial and error on every level, (social, emotional, criminal, legal) ,

he is doing more normal things like cooking for himself, riding a bike outdoors regularly or filling a bird feeder regularly.

He often says house staff or grocery clerks are cruel to him.

He still has psychotic episodes, but much milder and less frequently.
And I know how to handle this unbalanced time better.

He just wants to steer through the terror he is experiencing and be heard.

I appreciate the support and insight on this SZ Family site.
