Our Doctor wants to increase the dose for my Son, just wanted to ask, the more doses means more Side effects, like eating more that he is now eating, or the eating habbits will stay stable,
It’s a tradeoff between the symptoms of SZ – particularly psychoses – and the side effects of the meds. In my son’s case the horrible things that happened when he was psychotic outweighed the side effects of the meds, and the doctor kept raising the dosage until the voices and delusions went away. Now the meds are very slowly being titrated down.

Sometimes increasing the dose can alleviate side effects. If a dose is not optimal, if it’s either too low OR too high, there can be side effects. It’s best to follow the advice of the psychiatrist.
