I just have a question about the invega sustenna shot. My daughter has just been prescribed the shot and has received the starter dose. Now 2 doctors have told me that they can prescribe the invega shot but cannot administer it on site. Does anyone know why this would be?
It may have something to do with their specific licensing parameters (just a guess) I also asked why my son’s psychiatric nurse could not draw his CBC blood tests each month (for convenience) and she is a certified nurse, however they said they were not able to do so --so we go elsewhere for it.
My son’s psychiatrist office doesn’t have anyone who can administer shots. When he was on injections we took a couple of different routes - one was to find a pharmacy that had staff who could administer., the other was to get visiting nurse to administer.
