It seems that Europe is ahead of the US in terms of educating about sz and associated illnesses. I am in the US and find that MI is one of the remaining discriminated against illnesses. Friends and family do not understand it nor do they want to learn about it. They assume the impacted person is being troublesome or a malingerer and cannot get past that no matter how much I’ve (gently) tried to educate them. Perhaps someday the average person will understand and have more compassion.
