Covid and onsent/antagonizing of schizophrenia conditions

I think I may have shared this on here somewhere before, but a while ago I was reading this paper about the possibility of Covid infection being connected to new-onset episodes of psychosis.

In my opinion my wife had been in some decline over a period of about 14 months before she suddenly took off, but everything suddenly got a lot worse when she got Covid for the first time at the start of the week she left. The paper above is interesting as it is difficult to objectively measure worsening symptoms of people that already suffer from episodes of psychosis, but new cases are more black and white. If there is a causal effect of covid on new episodes of psychosis, it could be a distinct possibility that it could also be antagonizing or worsening the symptoms of those who already suffer from psychosis, and maybe even to a greater effect than it does in the general public.

I am curious if anybody has anecdotes about their loved ones either having a first episode or having worsening symptoms following a covid infection, or any other infection for that matter. The way my wife was for the months after she got covid was like nothing I had seen before, a completely different expression of her illness. I really did feel like her brain had been attacked by something. I saw such a big change come over her in the week she got covid.
