Hi my mam suffered from Paranoid Schizophrenia for 55 years. She developed religious delusions ,she also had no insight and didn’t comply or interact with services. Maybe a talk to the psychiatrist’s secretary explaining the change in behaviour may be a way forwardx
Schizophrenics often have religious type experiences, it’s one of the theories as to why the gene has persisted so long in the our genome make-up. Religion as a organising principle of societies is very valuable.

Not if it leads to setting up altars to sacrifice children . Obviously delusion vs acceptable religious belief here
When I say ‘important’ I’m not making a value judgement. For example some religions did advocate child sacrifice whereas others forbid it. The organising principle of people being drawn together in a common belief is common to both. What lies behind both in terms of emotion and force is the ability to conceive of and execute ideas. Almost like an innovative gene for want of a better word. I only use the example of religion here but innovative ideas are also the ideas that drive us forward as a species.How many of us as members of this genome group are inovative and insightful and creative ? On the other hand how many of us personally or in our families have problems with depression, gambling alcoholism adhd and of course schizophrenia, the list goes on. A double-edged sword.
