@Never_to_become. - In the US our mi kids can be released from the hospital onto the street. We have a very broken system in the states. I’ve been told that Canada is much better with healthcare and not sure if it also pertains to mental illness health care.

@jmarie1067. Sounds like you and your husband have gone through the wringer. For those lucky folks who’ve never seen mental illness in their families it’s hard to understand the desperation we parents can feel in helping our children. Several years ago in my state there was a mentally ill man on the streets who desperately needed help but nothing could be done because of what hospitals and police deem as a "danger to yourself and others. Yes, he eventually did get help because he killed someone on the street. It makes me so angry and sad that this is what is called mental health care in the states.

@willysmom Thank you for your words. Losing hope for my 26 yo son here. This is the hardest thing I have ever done. So much grief for who my son used to be.
